Marvel Legends 11 and 12 Found!

I found Marvel Legends 12 at Wal-Mart today and Marvel Legends 11 at K-Mart. Sadly, there were no variants and if there was a Scarlet Witch, she was already gone. If you haven't found them yet, they will be everywhere soon.

Review: Spider-Man Classics - Manwolf

The newest series of Spider-man figures is showing up in Hong Kong right now. Current series are sporting 2 villians per wave instead of the ususal one. This one has a newly scultped Venom and all new Man-wolf. You can read the first review of Man-wolf over at Action-Figure.com today. The short version is the action feature hurts the figure. As is common with these figures, the action feature hurts the neck articulation and limits the head poseability. I suspect most fans will get this one anyway. I know I will. This series also debuts a packaging change for the line, and I am also in favor of that.

Marvel Legends News

It seems that while Marvel Legends 11 is not showing up in big numbers, Scarlet Witch is showing up in case assortments. She has been showing up where Marvel Legends series 11 is being found. Currently, Marvel Legends 12 is seeing a wider release across the US that series 11 although they started showing up about the same time. The official word from Toy Biz was that they were not happy with the Scarlet Witch figure so they cancelled the figure with plans to release her with a future wave.

Additionally, while this is an unconfirmed rumor, it is being reported that there will be a build-a-figure pack-in for Marvel Legends series 13 and that the pieces can be put together to form... Onslaught! If you want to find out exactly who Onslaught is, then you can view his character bio at MarvelDirectory.com. The short version is that Onslaught was a sentient psionic entity created from the consciousness of two mutants, Charles Xavier and Magneto.

DC Direct "Crisis with Infinite Action Figures" Recall

DC Direct announced it is inviting retailers and consumers to return CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS SERIES 1 ACTION FIGURES due to quality control problems with the collection. Retailers can return the figures from November 23 through December 21 via Diamond Comic Distributors for a full refund plus a $5.00 credit to cover shipping.

DC Direct also announced it is cancelling all previous orders on the line and resoliciting orders for series 1 and 2 to be released on June 28. This will be a new and improved run to correct problems with the first series of figures and is a resolicitation of series 2.

Click here to go to Toy News International - Daily Action Figure News Source for more info.

It seems like DC Direct has been plagued with problems lately. This announcement comes on the heels of their announcement that several action figure lines that were supposed to be in stores now will be delayed indefinitely. Note that Marvel has had issues lately as well, having to cancel a whole figure (Scarlet Witch) from its Marvel Legends line due to quality and production issues.

Superman Returns

The official web site for Superman Returns has opened. Check it out at http://supermanreturns.warnerbros.com/. If you are planning on seeing the new Harry Potter movie, the Superman Returns trailer will be shown at the beginning of this movie. I planned on seeing Harry Potter anyway, so I now I just have more incentive to go. I am definitely looking forward to this movie especially after Batman Begins.

Made for TV Blade Movie

I believe I had heard something about a Blade TV series being made and now we have more details. This is actually the first I have heard of it. Production has begun on a Blade movie that is being made for Spike TV. Kirk "Sticky" Jones, recently of FX's Over There, has signed to star as Blade. David Goyer, who wrote all three Blade movies and directed Blade: Trinity, will serve as executive producer and co-wrote the film with Geoff Johns. It is currently scheduled to debut in June. Check out the full story at Comics Continuum.

Marvel Legends Series 12 Packaged

Yes, Marvel Legends series 12 have shown up in England even though series 11 has not even shown up in the United States yet and it seems like we just got series 10. You can see pictures of Marvel Legends series 12 in the packaging over at SuperHeroTimes.com. Correct me if I'm wrong, but is that a variant of X-23? If it is, that means this series has six figures and now five variants. Wow.

Marvel Select Spider-Woman Revealed

A prototype of the Marvel Select Spider-Woman figure premiered at Wizard World Texas this weekend. Click on the link and head on over to the TNI site for pics. Based on her appearances in the New Avengers, the Spider-Woman figure will have multiple points of articulation and be in-scale with past Marvel Select figures. While the exact sculpt of the Marvel Select Spider-Woman is not determined yet, it will be taken from her most recent adventures as a member of the New Avengers and will be sculpted by Sam Greenwell.

I personally am a big fan of Spider-Woman and am looking forward to this figure. I don't own any Marvel Select figures but I will be picking this one up. I hope they release a better picture and a final sculpt soon.
